Family-owned Lighthouse RV Manufacturing LLC has introduced 18- and 29-foot “‘high-end entry level” travel trailers under the Lighthouse brand name with MSRPs of $12,000 to $24,000. “We have no options; everything is standard equipment,” Melvin Yutzy, vice president of the six-month-old Wawaka, Ind., company, told RVBUSINESS.com. Wood-and-fiberglass Lighthouse trailers are available in four floorplans, three equipped with a single slideout. Features include chrome wheels, power awnings, heat pump air conditioning, flat screen TVs with DVD players, residential refrigerators, three-burner stoves and outside showers. “It’s road-ready when it gets to the dealer,” said Yutzy, who previously worked in production at Jayco Inc., Carrige Inc., and SunnyBrook Inc. All things considered, Yutzy’s not about to let a global recession slow him down. “Any time you hit a low, that’s going to be followed by a high,” Yutzy said. “With all the manufacturers going out of business, there are going to be dealers who aren’t going to be able to get product.”
