Peterson Industries new Winslow travel trailer

Peterson Industries Inc. will introduce a high-end Winslow travel trailer with 120 cubic feet of basement storage Sept. 13-19 at the 42nd Annual Pennsylvania RV and Camping Show at Hersheypark in Hershey, Pa. ”When you walk in, you get the feel you’re in a fifth-wheel, not a travel trailer,” said Peterson Industries President Bryan Tillet. The 33-foot Winslow quad-slide floorplan is built on the same drop-Z frame on which Peterson assembles its high-end Excel fifth-wheel line. ”We copied our best-selling fifth-wheel floorplan and turned it into a travel trailer,” Tillett said. ”Basically, it has more storage than most fifth-wheels have.” The Winslow, Tillet said, is designed to attract older consumers who have problems negotiating the steps going into a fifth-wheel’s bedroom. ”Our average buyer is 69 years old and a full-time RVer,” Tillett Said. ”They tell us the No. 1 problem they have with a travel trailer is storage space or the lack of it.” A fully equipped Winslow with an outdoor utility center, fireplace, pullout pantry, wine rack, office nook prewired for a computer, thermopane windows, electric awning and a minus 10-degree Fahrenheit guarantee retails for $70,000. About a dozen Excel dealers inspected the Winslow during Peterson’s dealer meeting July 18-20 at the company’s Smith Center, Kan., headquarters.
