Stay at SUNCOAST our tax and fees are low and we are fenced and securer

GAINESVILLE, Fla.-- The Alachua County Commission is hoping to hit one out of the park with the construction of a Cooperstown South Baseball Complex in Newberry. And a higher bed tax may help to make that possible.

The county commission voted to enact an additional 2-cent tax on hotel and motel bills and stays of six months or less at campgrounds and recreational parks. The new tax is effective May 1 and would bring the total fee to 5 cents per dollar.
