Nomad RV: Home for Post-Apocalyptic Family

The Nomad RV

The Nomad RV

Editor’s Note: From Inventorspot comes a look at this mobile house for a post-apocalypse family.

For some reason or another, there has been a rash of “end-of-the-world” movies over the past few years. While those living-dead proof, fully armored vehicles will likely never be anything but a fantasy, the Nomad RV should offer everything you need to keep you and your family safe.

The basic idea here is that the survivors will have to return to a nomadic lifestyle, moving from place to place to find food and water. The Nomad RV will make this lifestyle easier by offering a place to grow food, a system to purify water and a solar array to provide power for both.

A large sail, presently being dubbed a fog trap, will extend from the top of the Nomad to accumulate moisture from the air. This will then be collected and used for drinking and cooking. A greenhouse has also been incorporated to provide a place to grow vegetables and other plants.

According to the designer, a family of four can live and work comfortably inside the Nomad RV for quite some time, assuming no unwanted guests stop for a visit.

While I wouldn’t count on seeing the Nomad RV reaching production anytime soon, it’s still fun to speculate.
